If you are not using Google Reader as a search engine, then you are missing out on one of it’s most powerful features. In this tutorial, I will discuss how to use Google Reader’s search functionality to help you save time when designing and coding your next project.
Search FTW
Have you ever coded a website when you ran across a problem that you know you have seen solved before in a blog post but you can’t remember which blog or when it was posted? Google Reader to the rescue – the search bar at the top of the Google Reader interface can be used to search the archives of all the feeds you are subscribed to and return the results based on the keywords you have entered.

Getting Specific
Further, you can tell Google to look through all your feeds or just a folder or a specific feed that you are subscribed to.
The results interface is pretty much what you would expect from Google search as seen below.

This is an invaluable time saving tool that I hope you will take advantage of when you are doing research for your next design project.
